Afghan restaurant finds new home

March 25, 2019

The owner of Khorasan Kabob House has found a new location and hopes to reopen later this spring.

Arian “Abdul” Wisaal closed the Afghan restaurant at 301 S. Garfield Ave. on March 10 and soon after signed a lease for a location on the west side of Sioux Falls.

Khorasan will fill the vacant Rowdy Hog Smokin’ BBQ space in a retail center at 923 S. Marion Road. Rowdy Hog closed last fall.

Wisaal has started remodeling and said he needs to find some kitchen equipment before he can reopen the restaurant. He’s hoping to be ready sometime between mid-April and early May.

He started the business, which originally was called Global Village Cafe, in 2005 on 41st Street across from the Western Mall. The restaurant lost its lease in 2016 and was closed for eight months before reopening in the retail center at 12th Street and Garfield.
