All-you-can-eat taco buffet opens

Aug. 26, 2019

A new, locally owned restaurant that features an all-you-can-eat taco buffet has opened.

Taco Town Buffet is open daily at 2700 W. 41st St. in the former Cowboy Chicken location. It’s owned by Afshin Sadri; his wife, Pegah Diznab; and her parents. They are of Persian and Turkish descent.

The family has replaced Cowboy Chicken’s bold orange paint with pastel shades of lavender and blue. The former restaurant’s  wood-fired rotisserie area now holds several upright rotisseries commonly used for making gyro meat that will be used to cook pork for the buffet.

For lunch, the buffet offers three choices of meat, chimichangas, taco fixings and a salad bar, Diznab said. The weekday lunch price is $11.20, and hours are 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The dinner buffet features the rotisserie pork, shredded beef and chicken, fajita-style chicken and veggies, rice, beans, taco toppings, corn and flour tortillas, hard shells for tacos and salads, tri-colored chips and a salad bar. Grilled pineapple will be served for dinner and on the weekends, Diznab said.

The dinner price is $13.40 on weekdays and $13.99 on the weekend.

Kids eat for $5.99 Monday through Thursday all day and for Friday lunch, otherwise the price is $6.99. Kid-friendly options include mac-and-cheese, chicken nuggets and tater tots.

All prices include Coke products, Columbian coffee or iced tea.

The buffet opens daily at 11 a.m. The restaurant closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday.
