Architecture, engineering firm to expand to Sioux Falls

ISG, a multidisciplinary firm based in Mankato, Minn., is opening a Sioux Falls office.

The firm will lease part of the former Sanford Foundation office in the Lumber Exchange building in downtown Sioux Falls. It offers architecture, engineering, environmental and planning strategies, services and guidance to a wide range of markets nationwide.

While the firm’s physical presence will start in February 2018, ISG has partnered in the past with local agricultural leaders on drainage efforts and with major food and industrial companies among other markets.

“ISG has a successful track record in terms of growth and sustainability, and it’s my pleasure to welcome it to South Dakota,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “ISG actively seeks people who are innovative, driven and committed to progressive development, and that’s exactly the kind of company we like to see take root in South Dakota.”

It will be ISG’s first South Dakota office and ninth location. It has offices in three other states.

“ISG will be an excellent addition to downtown and the Sioux Falls area,” said Alexis Konstant, commercial projects and broker associate at Lloyd Cos., who leased the space. “Their fun and professional dispositions will be a good fit at Lumber Exchange and are sure to be inspired by the energy and vibrancy of the community.”

ISG transitioned to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan earlier this year. South Dakota has provided a pipeline of workers throughout the firm’s 40-year history, its leaders said.

“Having access to a pipeline of valuable, talented workers is extremely important for ISG to thrive and build employee ownership,” said Chad Surprenant, president and CEO. “We look forward to building a relationship with regional schools and development leaders who share in our firm culture and values.”
