Badlands Motor Speedway back on the market

March 4, 2019

It looks like Badlands Motor Speedway won’t be returning to its former owner.

The speedway said late last year that longtime owner Steve Rubin was working to buy back the Brandon racetrack from Chuck Brennan.

Rubin ran the speedway for more almost three decades. His family sold it to Brennan in 2015, who made millions of dollars worth of improvements before closing it in 2017.

Rubin requested 60 days to compile investors with the plan of reopening the 60-year-old speedway under the Huset’s name Memorial Day weekend.

But a March 1 deadline passed without a deal done.

Badlands posted on its website that the property is available for $9.45 million or a $75,000 per month lease.

Owner financing is available with a 25 percent down payment and interest only or interest-free payments over five years, it said.
