Big weekend ahead: Multiple events offer downtown fun

Make the most of one of summer’s last weekends with several events happening at the same time downtown.

605 Made Night Market

The 605 Made Night Market runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Cherapa Place, offering local shopping under the stars along with local beer, lots of food trucks, live music and entertainment.

The free event is sponsored by The First National Bank of Sioux Falls, Ace Hardware and the South Dakota Retailers Association, and organized by Knotty Gnome Variety & Salvage and SiouxFalls.Business.

Here’s a look at what to expect:

Beervana

Beervana will help kick off Saturday with its event from 2 to 6 p.m. at Monk’s House of Ale Repute. Weather permitting, there will be wading pools inside and outside, along with beach balls, bubbles and inflatables, so dress accordingly. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the event. Walking tacos will be available to purchase.

Taste the Goodness

An annual event from the Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern South Dakota comes downtown this year. Taste the Goodness will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Avera parking lot at 212 E. 11th St. Funds raised will benefit the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.

The event previously was called Legacy: A Tasting Experience. This year’s version includes live music from Goodroad and yard games. Tickets are $39, which includes all tastings: food, craft beer, wine, coffee and soda.

That Sounds Decent

That Sounds Decent returns to 8th & Railroad Center with a two-day event, beginning at 6 tonight and 4 p.m. Saturday. The free event includes food trucks and a beer tent.
