Breadico to close retail store

Breadico is closing its retail location at Eighth Street and Weber Avenue to focus on making bread.

Here’s what the store shared on Facebook:

“With a growing demand for our breads, we have decided to set aside what great work our restaurant has become and continue our focus on providing our breads to your favorite stores.

We realize many of you may be sad to hear this news, but please know we are excited to take what we consider a step forward for our business and family, and are equally excited to see who may take our beautiful space and grow it to its potential.”

The lease on the building is still in place, and owner David Napolitano is asking anyone who is interested in purchasing or renting a turn-key wood-fired restaurant to message Breadico on Facebook.

“Thank you for supporting us, we may build something again,” he said, adding there could be future pop-up events.

The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan 2-5 and then will close. Gift cards should be redeemed then.

Breads are sold at:

  • Looks Meat Market
  • Coop Natural Foods
  • Pomegranate Market
  • Dakota Seafood
  • HyVee Cliff Ave & 57th (Health Market)
  • HyVee Sycamore & 26th (Health Market)
  • HyVee Louise & 49th (Health Market)
  • HyVee Minnesota Avenue (bread aisle)

As well as these restaurants:

  • M.B. Haskett Delicatessen
  • Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Cafe
  • R Wine Bar
