A teacher turned actor, entrepreneur and two-time national poetry slam champion will be the keynote speaker at next week’s Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting.

Sekou Andrews, owner of Poetic Voice, is a speaker and entertainer whose clients include Google, Viacom, Toyota, Nike, Cisco, Linkedin, General Mills and the NBA.

The event Tuesday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center is expected to draw more than 1,700 people.

It marks the 113th annual meeting for the chamber.

“This is a can’t-miss event for anyone who wants to connect and grow their business,” said Bobbi Thury, chair of the board of directors for the chamber. “The entire business community comes together to celebrate, network and learn from other leaders.”

The annual meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. with a networking reception. The dinner and program begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at siouxfallschamber.com.
