CheeseWorld shifts business model to online, pop-up events

Nov. 4, 2019

CheeseWorld has closed its retail store and is focusing on selling its cheese and related products online and at special events.

The store at 69th Street and Western Avenue closed at the end of August and did an inventory reduction sale about a month later.

It was open nearly six years.

“We have made this decision for CheeseWorld as a result of our lives having taken on a variety of new directions and responsibilities,” manager Michael Czmowski said in a statement to customers.

“Our family originally created CheeseWorld out of a lifelong career, passion and love of great cheese. Our mission — actually a bucket-list item — was to share this passion with you to educate and allow you to experience awesome varieties of award-winning cheeses. Over the years,we believe we have accomplished that goal and sincerely hope you have gained a new appreciation for quality cheese that you will carry with you for a lifetime, along with fond and fun memories of CheeseWorld.”

CheeseWorld will hold pop-up cheese shops during the next few months and will offer gift baskets and catering through its website. The business is looking for a new spot to base its packaging and catering kitchen.

Products and catering are available through cheeseworldusa.com or by email at [email protected] or by calling 605-275-0990.

Any outstanding CheeseWorld store gift cards can be used through Dec. 31.
