Minnesota-based Dakota Supply Group, or DSG, is expanding its presence in Sioux Falls.

Its main electrical, HVAC and plumbing branch will move into a new building at 800 E. 60th St. N. early next year.

The current office is at 3610 N. St. Paul Ave.

The newer one under construction is larger and will have a more efficient layout, leading to a faster order-fulfillment cycle, the company said in a statement. It’s a 120,000-square-foot building, and DSG will occupy about half of it to start.

“This is a major leap forward for our Sioux Falls team. It allows us to provide greater service locally and across the entire state of South Dakota,” said Ryan Tracy, South Dakota general manager. “Our business in Sioux Falls has outgrown the capacity of our current building. I am excited to see the new facility help lead our efforts toward delivering a higher customer-service standard throughout the state.”

The number of employees in Sioux Falls fluctuates throughout the year but averages about 60 people.

DSG is employee-owned and was founded in 1898, with roots dating back to 1868. It has almost 700 employee-owners. The company distributes products and services to customers in the electrical; plumbing; HVAC; refrigeration; communications; utility; automation; waterworks; on-site sewer, water and well; filtration; and metering technology industries.
