Damaged restaurants donate to The Banquet

Sept. 13, 2019

Hours after a tornado ripped through their businesses, two Sioux Falls restaurants on West 41st Street began giving back.

The Original Pancake House and The Rush donated their freezer and cooler inventory to The Banquet.

“That’s a few thousand dollars’ worth of items that will help in providing our guests meals we do not have sponsors for,” The Banquet said in a Facebook post.

“We are very sorry for their loss but thank them for making something positive out of it!”

The Original Pancake House didn’t suffer as much damage as The Rush in one of three EF-2 tornadoes that touched down in Sioux Falls on Tuesday night, but both are closed indefinitely along with the rest of the businesses in the main retail center for Plaza 41.

Managers: Stay away from Plaza 41
