Demolition has started at the Billion Kia building at the site of a future Lewis Drug.

Billion is moving the Kias from 37th Street and Minnesota Avenue to the west of its main dealership at 41st Street and Minnesota Avenue.

Lewis will build a 25,000-square-foot store to replace the existing Southgate store at 41st and Minnesota.

The plan is to open it for the holiday season.

CEO Mark Griffin calls it a “next-generation” concept, focused on customer convenience and a carefully chosen mix of merchandise.
