Downtown boutique renovates to add styling lounge

Oct. 25, 2019

Chelsea’s Boutique has converted part of its stock area into a new VIP styling lounge.

The fully furnished space adds two dressing rooms, lounge furniture, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a jewelry table and a mini-bar.

The boutique at 220 S. Phillips Ave. added styling sessions last year but hosted them in the regular dressing rooms. The expansion allows for more bookings and for friends and groups to book together.

“The personal styling option has been absolutely loved by those that have booked so far,” owner Chelsea Giedd said.

“It is designed for those that want a dedicated Chelsea’s stylist to help select items and piece outfits together that can be multidimensional, developing a capsule wardrobe (with) a stylist that is a honest, helpful friend.”

Personal styling sessions are $40 to reserve, and at the scheduled time, the deposit converts into store credit. Bookings can be conducted online or over the phone.

“Some of my main customers don’t actually enjoy shopping and taking 30 minutes or an hour to view every new arrival in the store,” Giedd said. “With personal styling, we serve their needs by using a pre-session questionnaire to learn of individual preferences and body shape. From that, one of the five on-staff, trained stylists will select outfits specially selected and have ready to try on at arrival, no actual ‘shopping’ required.”

Personal styling customers are given access to an online group of “style insiders” for women who have gone through the private or group sessions. The group is designed to be “a community of support and help in all things fashion, trends and self-confidence,” she said.
