Downtown event space owners to expand into additional venue

Sept. 28, 2022

The owners of the downtown event space Convolo are adding a location.

The new venue, called Casetta, will be on 37th Street west of Phillips Avenue in the building currently occupied by Houndstooth House. The interior design firm will be moving next door.

Casetta is Italian for “little house.” Owners Amy Boes and Angela Merritt, who are sisters, plan to add some personal touches to it in the coming months but already are taking bookings beginning in December.

The space is designed to host a variety of holiday parties, showers, rehearsal dinners and corporate events.

The exterior will be painted black, and some light cosmetic changes are planned for the space.

“Houndstooth House has already done such an excellent design job with the space. We’re excited to move in and add touches of our brand to customize,” Merritt said in a statement.

With black Cambria backsplash, white walls and white shiplap ceilings, the new venue will offer a contemporary feel, the sisters said.

The space will seat up to 50 guests and is fitted with a separate conference room available for off-site meetings and corporate rentals.

“We’re bringing another event space to the scene that is quaint with sleek design and modern amenities,” Boes said.

“We have received such a great response from the community with Convolo, and we’re excited to offer another option that will be just as elevated for hosts but with a different style.”

Convolo opened late last year at Eighth Street and Weber Avenue.
