Downtown Gives to benefit Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons will be the beneficiary of this year’s Downtown Gives fundraiser, which kicks off Friday, Nov. 3.

Downtown retailers will sell $15 coupon books with offerings good at 30 restaurants and stores.

Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons focuses on building girls of courage, confidence and character and includes more than 12,000 girls.

“Our families, volunteers, troops and our Girl Scouts are truly thankful to Downtown Sioux Falls for choosing Girl Scouts — Dakota Horizons as this year’s beneficiary,” said Marla Meyer, CEO.

“The 2017 Downtown Gives proceeds supports Girl Scouts — Dakota Horizon’s mission, helping to empower every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) in order to change the world, with programs like our Girl Scouts After-School Outreach Program, where they learn the important skills they need to take the lead in their own lives and in the community. We are committed to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Downtown Sioux Falls is committed to positive community engagement in everything they do, and we are proud to be working with them on this campaign.”

In 2016, DTSF raised more than $5,900 for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House. Over the past four years, the Downtown Gives program has raised over $21,000 for local nonprofits.

DTSF is giving away $200 in gift cards to Duluth Trading Company for those who register to win after purchasing a coupon book. The deadline to register is Dec. 7. Coupon books will be sold through the end of the year, with coupons expiring March 31, 2018.
