Downtown Sioux Falls to launch ‘Digital Passport’ app
Dec. 16, 2019
Visit downtown Sioux Falls, download an app and your downtown experience soon will turn into a game that can earn you points and prizes.
Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. is launching an app – DTSF Digital Passport – Jan. 2. The launch will coincide with the seventh annual Downtown Burger Battle.
App users will log in to vote in the Burger Battle and earn points as they cast votes. Top point earners will be rewarded with prizes, such as DTSF gift cards.
All voting for Burger Battle will take place through the app.
In future phases, the app will “gamify” many of downtown’s offerings.
“The next step in gamifying the downtown experience will include downtown’s cultural offerings by laying virtual scavenger hunts that incorporate audio, photography, text and video to create a multifaceted storytelling experience,” DTSF president Joe Batcheller said.
The app is designed to engage people in what downtown has to offer. Future experiential content will be added to the app throughout the beginning of 2020.
Early adopters can sign up to receive an email when the app is able to download at dtsf.com/digital-passport.
The app was developed with support from sponsors Avera Health and AARP South Dakota.
