March 8, 2021

Business and leadership consultant Kerri Tietgen has been named the new CEO of EmBe.

Tietgen of Sioux Falls has more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership roles and most recently was the founder and operator of KT Consulting. She served as a consultant to a range of organizations of all sizes and from private, nonprofit and for-profit sectors.

Tietgen will begin her new role March 22.

“Kerri brings a true passion for the EmBe mission, which has been demonstrated through her involvement as a participant and active supporter of EmBe. She has extraordinary communication skills and cares deeply about providing high-quality services and meeting community needs, and her passion for the staff and employees that provide these services is undying. Her vision, values and philosophies align with those most important to EmBe. As we celebrate our 100-year milestone this year, we believe that Kerri’s leadership will set the tone for another 100 years of success for the organization not only in Sioux Falls, but across the state of South Dakota,” Alex Halbach, EmBe board chair, said in a statement.

“While we had many qualified candidates for this position, it was Kerri’s proven experience, strategic vision and positive energy for EmBe that were critical criterion when selecting her as our next CEO. Kerri is a perfect fit for the organization, and we are excited for her to join the team on March 22.”

Tietgen’s experience encompasses leader and organizational development, creating a strong culture to drive positive results and matching strategy with mission and execution. She has a passion for people and bringing teams together, which is supported by a background in finance and results-driven leadership, EmBe said.

“I am humbled and honored to join the EmBe team. I have always admired the organization, the mission and the team of individuals who carry out that mission,” Tietgen said.

“Amongst all of the uncertainty in the world today, EmBe’s proven track record of excellence and leadership in our community sets us up perfectly to be part of the solution. Change, healing and transformation begins in the home, and EmBe’s mission of empowering women and families is a vital piece of the puzzle. I look forward to working together with the EmBe team to continue to carry out the mission into the future.”
