Going-out-of-business sales are wrapping up this week at Younkers and Sears in The Empire Mall.

Today is the final day for Younkers. The majority of the remaining merchandise, of which there is very little, has been moved near the west entrance in the former kitchen and bedding areas. The liquidation company that bought the inventory in a bankruptcy auction also is selling the store’s display tables, clothing racks and other items.

The sale ends at 5 p.m.

Sears will be open through Sunday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. In addition to marked-down merchandise, it’s also selling fixtures, furniture and equipment.
