July will bring several parking lot pop-up shops and other temporary offerings at The Empire Mall, including a pop-up children’s boutique.

It starts this weekend, when SmileDirectClub parks east of JCPenney near Louise Avenue, offering free digital teeth scanning. It’s a way to promote the SmileDirectClub clear aligner product. Most appointments are pre-scheduled. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Beginning July 15, NoteBoom RV will bring a selection of campers for sale, also east of JCPenney near Louise Avenue. They will be there through July 21.

A children’s retailer from Fargo will try out the Sioux Falls market July 19 through July 26. Tootsie’s Children’s Boutique specializes in unique and fashionable children’s clothing, accessories and baby necessities. It will operate out of the former Crazy 8 location.

Its timing is right for a stop in Sioux Falls, because July 20 will be the annual Children’s Bash inside the mall. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Sanford Children’s Play Area will feature a bounce house, airbrush tattoos, balloon artist and a photo booth.. Plus, the first 100 kids to attend will receive swag bags filled with an assortment of goodies and a free frozen custard from Culver’s. A balloon drop will take place at noon.

Parents can enter to win prizes, valued up to $500 each, from some of The Empire Mall’s participating retailers including Coach, Ashcroft & Oak and the newly opened ROAM Kitchen + Bar.

Summer Crazy Days is next, taking place July 19 through July 21 with end-of-summer savings throughout the mall.

Magic Carpets returns July 26 for its annual rug and art sale. It will be set up east of JCPenney near Louise Avenue and run through Sept. 12.

And the month wraps up with a visit from Sony, which will bring a free virtual reality experience to center court inside the mall. It will be there through Aug. 4.

And if you missed the carnival outside the mall at the start of the summer, one will return Aug. 23-25 when Todd Armstrong Carnival sets up west of the Younkers lot.
