Family business conference to focus on entrepreneurship, innovation

Dec. 11, 2019

Entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy in family business will be the theme of the 28th annual Prairie Family Business Association Family Business Conference next year.

The event April 28 and 29 will be at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown and feature best-selling author, award-winning speaker and certified Entrepreneurial Operating System implementer Mike Paton.

Paton discovered EOS a dozen years ago while trying to take a $7 million company to the next level. Feeling stuck and more than a little frustrated, his search for answers led him to Gino Wickman and EOS. Paton, who had helped run four entrepreneurial companies, instantly recognized the power of this simple, holistic “way of operating” a small business.

He quickly became a passionate advocate, joined the Professional EOS Implementer community and dedicated himself to helping other entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses. Since then, Paton has conducted more than 1,200 full-day sessions with the leadership teams of more than 110 companies and helped thousands more entrepreneurs by sharing EOS in dynamic talks and workshops worldwide.

“Prairie Family Business Association is pleased to present national experts in entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy centered on family business at the conference,” said Stephanie Larscheid, Prairie Family Business Association’s executive director.

“Families who attend will leave with tools to operate and lead their family business today and for future generations.”

The annual conference is for family businesses and those who advise families from the five-state region to learn and work through opportunities and challenges unique to family businesses.

To register for the conference and for information, visit Prairie Family Business Association’s revamped website at fambus.org or call 605-274-9530. Early bird pricing for the conference is available for members and non-members until Jan. 31.
