The morning crowd at The Original Pancake House is about to get even bigger: The Sioux Falls location is offering a free breakfast to any federal government employee or contract worker.
Showing employee identification will get workers free eggs, pancakes and hash browns on weekdays, the restaurant posted on Facebook, as it thanked federal employees for what they do.
An estimated 800,000 federal workers nationwide aren’t getting paid because of the partial government shutdown.
The Original Pancake House didn’t post how long its offer will last.
Those who take advantage of it will also be among the first to see a newly renovated location at 41st Street and Kiwanis Avenue. The restaurant was closed last week for remodeling and reopened Saturday
