Find out who’s offering free meals, drinks for Veterans Day

Several Sioux Falls-area businesses are offering free meals and drinks to veterans Wednesday for Veterans Day.

Some offers include active military. Be sure to bring a military ID.

Check back because we’ll update this until noon Wednesday as we learn about more offers.

  • The Barrel House: Free lunch or dinner for active military, veterans and first responders.
  • Big J’s Roadhouse: The Harrisburg and Humboldt restaurants are offering free meals to veterans and active-duty service members.
  • Blue 42 Sports Grill: The Hartford restaurant is offering free meals to veterans and active-duty service members.
  • Boss’ Pizza & Chicken: Free personal pizza and soda or beer for veterans at the Minnesota Avenue location. Veterans and their kids also get free play on the F-14 Tomcat pinball machine in the adjacent Pinball Room.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings: Free basket with 10 wings and fries for veterans and active-duty or retired military.
  • Charleys Philly Steaks: Free cheesesteak for active-duty military or veterans.
  • Chevys Fresh Mex: Free pick-two meal for veterans.
  • Chili’s Grill & Bar: Free meal for active and retired military.
  • Coffea Roasterie: Free drink of choice to veterans.
  • Covert Cellars: The downtown taproom for the brewery will buy the first pour for veterans.
  • Cracker Barrel: Free slice of cake to veterans and active-duty service members.
  • Crooked Pint Ale House: Free meal for veterans and active duty.
  • Daily Clean Food & Drink: Free drip coffee for veterans.
  • Dairy Queen: Free medium Blizzard at participating locations to veterans and active or retired military personnel.
  • Denny’s: Free Build Your Own Grand Slam for all active, non-active and retired military personnel from 5 a.m. to noon, although hours may vary by location. Dine-in only.
  • Granite City Food & Brewery: Free lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for active-duty military or veterans.
  • Gregg’s Substation: Free regular sub for veterans and active duty.
  • Hy-Vee: Free breakfast to veterans and active-duty military members. Because of the pandemic, each meal will be individually packaged and available via a contactless drive-thru in store parking lots while supplies last. Contact your local store for hours.
  • Inca Mexican Restaurant: Free jar of salsa. No purchase necessary.
  • Johnny Carino’s: Choose from one of four entrees for all veterans and military personnel. Does not include soup or salad.
  • Lucky’s Bar: One free beer for veterans past and present.
  • Lupulin: One free beer for veterans.
  • Oh My Cupcakes: Free cupcake for veterans.
  • Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion and Coca-Cola for veterans and active military.
  • Overtime Grill & Bar: The restaurant will buy a drink for veterans.
  • Perkins Restaurant & Bakery: Free Magnificent Seven for veterans.
  • Redders: The food truck will be giving out free meals to 200 veterans beginning at 11 a.m. at South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance on Russell Street. Update: Because of the snow, this is being postponed to Nov. 18. 
  • Red Lobster: Free appetizer or dessert for veterans and active-duty military.
  • Remedy Brewing Co.: First beer is on the house for veterans, and they get an extra bingo card for tonight’s games.
  • Rev It Up Grille: The restaurant in Thunder Road’s new indoor entertainment center is offering a free 9-inch, single-topping  pizza to veterans.
  • Roam Kitchen + Bar: Free meal for veterans and active military personnel.
  • Ruby Tuesday: Free sandwich with fries or tots for veterans and active-duty service members. Dine-in or carryout.
  • R Wine Bar & Kitchen: Free glass of red wine for veterans and active-duty military.
  • Safari Bar & Grill: The Renner restaurant is offering a free appetizer to veterans and active-duty military personnel.
  • The SandBar & Grill: Free meal for active, retired and former military.
  • Scooter’s Coffee: Free drink for veterans.
  • Sickies Garage: Veterans and active-duty military are invited to dine-in for a free Garage Burger or take 20 percent off a call-in takeout order.
  • Squealer’s Smoke Shack: Free flatbread and side for veterans.
  • Taco John’s: Free small beef No. 1 combo meal for active and retired military when ordered through the app.
  • Waddy’s Bar & Grill: The Hudson business is offering a free meal for veterans.
  • The Willows: Free taco basket or half-price burger basket for veterans.
  • WoodGrain Brewing Co.: The owners have opened a tab to buy the first beer for veterans and those serving in the military.
