First look: 22 Ten Kitchen & Cocktails, now hiring

The owners of the newest south Sioux Falls restaurant 22 Ten Kitchen & Cocktails are adding staff and giving a preview of what’s to come when they open in the former Beef ‘O’ Brady’s space at 69th Street and Western Avenue.

“It’s going to be really cool and modern,” said Megan Schuver, marketing director for 22 Ten owner WR Hospitality.

“We’re really hoping to emphasize social dining with family and friends.”

The open floor plan includes a variety of seating areas. A showcase kitchen and full bar will be focal points.

Working with IR Restaurant Design, Equipment and Supplies, the goal was to create something that was edgy, modern and comfortable, Schuver said.

Construction “is going pretty well,” Schuver said. “The framing is up and the electric work is done, and we have a new HVAC system, so we’re plugging away.”

The menu is still in development, she said.

The plan is still to include eclectic American cuisine from steak and seafood entrees to pastas, salads and burgers. There will be lunch, dinner and happy hour menus as well as potentially a Sunday brunch.

The concept includes innovative, artisan small plates, local favorites and crafted cocktails with fresh-squeezed juices, homemade syrups and sources, craft beer and chef-selected wine.

First, though, is hiring.

The restaurant wants to hire between 60 and 70 people for its opening and is taking applications for all positions.

“We are hiring for management and hourly and are starting to get more applications,” Schuver said.

While an opening date hasn’t been set, the hope is to be ready be late October or early November.
