GreatLIFE’s 5K is coming back – and this year you’ll be able to complete it with others.

“While we were happy we could offer a virtual version of the 5K last year, there’s nothing like coming out and having fun with friends,” said Josh Knoll, who is coordinating the event.

“So with 5K season starting up, we were happy to be able to hold the GreatLIFE 5K while at the same time helping support the GreatLIFE Cares Foundation.”

The June 5 event will go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting at Sertoma Park, making a loop and wrapping up at Woodlake Athletic Club, where vendors will be waiting and participants can meet up with one another.

Its Couch to 5K program has started, but you can still join.

You’ll be able to take advantage of:

• Nutrition tips for running.
• Weekly fitness challenges and strength training.
• Brain games.
• And, of course, a running training schedule.

“You can choose between a beginner or intermediate training schedule, and even if you’ve never done a 5K and are starting from zero, we’ll get you where you need to be by event day,” Knoll said.

Registration is open until the day of the race and is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.

“The best part about this is how much we’re able to donate to GreatLIFE Cares, which does so much to support worthy causes in our community, especially those involving kids,” Knoll said. “We’re looking forward to a great 5K.”
