Giving Back for July

From staff reports

Hy-Vee/Sanford Legends

A record $210,000 was raised for local youth sports organizations and scholarships by Hy-Vee/Sanford Legends this year, pushing the total donated since 2005 to $1.9 million. The Hy-Vee/Sanford Legends program provides learning opportunities for young student-athletes to grow and be inspired by providing sporting clinics and camps. Each year, celebrity athletes who represent the Legends goals — quality, integrity and character — are brought to Sioux Falls to help lead the events. More than 4,500 people participated in the program this year.

MyPillow

The MyPillow store in The Empire Mall has donated more than 600 pillows to the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House, St. Francis House, Children’s Inn and Union Gospel Mission. The store donated one pillow for every purchase that had been made since February.
