Boss’ Pizza & Chicken

Boss’ Pizza & Chicken celebrated its 17th anniversary by donating 17 percent of sales from two days at Sioux Falls and Tea restaurants to Feeding South Dakota. The effort raised just over $4,030.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee Inc. recognized the nation’s veterans and active-duty military members in November. Through the annual Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up, the grocery stores teamed up with customers to raise money to support veterans, active-duty military members and their families. Hy-Vee is matching all customer donations up to $100,000, and Coca-Cola is matching up to $50,000, with all proceeds benefiting Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, American Red Cross and the Puppy Jake Foundation. Hy-Vee stores also provided a free Veterans Day breakfast buffet to veterans and active-duty military, and Dollar Fresh Markets gave out doughnuts and coffee. They also received 15 percent off grocery purchases that day.

Midco Foundation

The Midco Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 to 58 nonprofits, schools and government organizations across the Midwest. These grant recipients have been recognized as positive changemakers in their 29 respective communities. Recipients in the Sioux Falls area were Breathe Bravely, Building Sustainable Connections, Children’s Care Hospital and School, Harrisburg Area Food Pantry, Journey of Hope, Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation and Special Olympics South Dakota.

Parks Marina

Parks Marina on East Lake in Okoboji, Iowa, is teaming up with Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Dickinson County as part of its annual Boatload of Toys fundraiser, happening now through Dec. 16. New unwrapped toys also can be dropped off at the boat dealership in Sioux Falls. Donors will receive 20 percent off Parks Marina water accessories, Barefoot apparel and shopping at West Boutique and Palm at the Park. Toys will be given to families in need.
