A Colorado-based cannabis dispensary is franchising a location in Hartford.

The franchisees are B.J. Olson and Adam Jorgensen, who have an agreement to bring Unity Rd. to the community, franchised from Boulder-based 9 Labs Corp.

Unity Rd. markets itself as a “premier cannabis shop and the nation’s first cannabis franchise.”

Medical marijuana is legal in South Dakota.

The dispensary will be 2,500 square feet with a vault securing all cannabis products, the Hartford Area Development Foundation said in a statement.

It plans to open at 404 W. Opal Lane off Interstate 90, exit 387.

A groundbreaking is scheduled for Feb. 25, and Unity Rd. plans to be open by late spring or early summer.
