Here’s a sneak peek at SculptureWalk 2018

This SculptureWalk season might be winding down, but next year is a big one.

The event marks 15 years in downtown Sioux Falls, and more than 150 artists submitted work for it.

A committee recently chose 56 sculptures for next year’s event.

Reflecting Mushroom by Bruce Stillman was chosen for SculptureWalk 2018.

2018 is also when the Arc of Dreams by South Dakota Artist Laureate, Dale Lamphere, will be installed over the Big Sioux River.

“Our 15th year is going to be very special. This is the strongest and best group of submissions we’ve ever had to choose from,” said executive director Jim Clark. “2018 is going to be a spectacular year for public art and Sioux Falls.”
Here’s a look at some of the pieces selected.

Bear by Gary Hovey

Cascade by Donna Jean Mayne

Tight Curve by Sioux Falls artist Jeff Satter

Emotion in Motion by Larry Starck
