Here’s who’s playing at the 605 Made Night Market

From staff reports

Experience some of the best musical talent in Sioux Falls at the first-ever 605 Made Night Market on Aug. 25, starting at 4 p.m. and going until after dark in the Cherapa Place east parking lot.

“While much of the experience involves shopping and dining under the lights, we definitely wanted to feature local entertainment,” co-organizer Stacy Wengler said.

605 Made Night Market is co-organized by SiouxFalls.Business and Knotty Gnome Variety & Salvage. It’s sponsored by The First National Bank in Sioux Falls and Lloyd Cos.

The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with Josh Rieck, a mandolinist for The Union Grove Pickers. Rieck also owns String Theory Luthiery, specializing in repairs for guitar and instruments in the violin family, as well as custom musical instrument construction.

Folk band Hard Travelin’ takes the stage from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This five-piece string band from Sioux Falls draws from the roots of bluegrass and old-time country, and puts their own spin on those styles to create a unique sound of their own.

And Burlap Wolf King caps off the Night Market from 8 to 10 p.m. Led by singer-songwriter Thomas Hentges, the group recently released its full-length album “Bitter Honey” under the local record label Different Folk Records.

For more on what handmade merchandise and local food will be available at the market, follow the event on Facebook.

Admission is free.
