Hibachi buffet reopens without the buffet

June 20, 2020

Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet has reopened but not as a buffet.

On Friday, the popular restaurant on 41st Street, which has been closed since March, began serving takeout only from a new menu.

Customers can get a slight taste of a buffet with the buffet combo to go, choosing up to three appetizers, three entrees and two sides. A smaller combo also is available.

You’re in luck if your favorites are beef with broccoli, General Tso’s chicken, teppanyaki grill chicken, black pepper chicken, chicken with garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken, stir-fry green bean, mushroom with oyster sauce, chicken broccoli or butter shrimp.

The daily to-go menu has appetizers, soups, salads, teppanyaki grill boxes and cajun seafood meals with corn and potatoes.

Customers can order online or fill out their order on a form in the lobby.

Hibachi has constructed a double window box for transactions. Customers open their window and put their order form and payment in the box, shut their window, and then the server opens her window to retrieve the items. When the food is ready, it’s placed in the box.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
