Hy-Vee is adding a counter-service version of its Wahlburgers restaurant at its 26th Street and Marion Road location.

The space at 1900 S. Marion Road is scheduled to open Sept. 7, Hy-Vee confirmed.

It will be a casual, counter-service style restaurant unlike some sit-down ones in other stores. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The menu will be similar to other Wahlburgers locations, with a lineup of signature burgers, homestyle sides, house-made condiments, salads, sandwiches, shakes and a full-service bar including beer, wine and cocktails.

Customers can still order from a Hy-Vee breakfast menu daily, and the full menu is available to order online and to go.

Chef Paul Wahlberg created the Wahlburgers franchise, along with brothers Mark and Donnie.

The Marion Road store is the only Hy-Vee in the market currently scheduled to get the restaurant.
