Jazz & Blues Society announces executive director

Oct. 8, 2018

Trygve Fredrickson, former principal and CFO at TSP Inc., is the new executive director of the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society.

Fredrickson starts today and succeeds Rob Joyce, who will help with the transition.

“After conducting a lengthy search, Tryg is clearly an outstanding candidate for this important position in our community,” board chair Kevin Rovang said. “He is a proven leader with a passion for nonprofit organizations, who has the experience and energy to lead Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues into the future.”

Before working at TSP, Fredrickson served as CEO of the Sioux Empire Fair Association.  He also has been involved with numerous community organizations, including serving as board chair for The Butterfly House and Aquarium.

“There is nothing like live music to build connections, community and culture, and the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society has doing just that through it concerts and programs,” Fredrickson said. “I am eager and excited to be part of that great mission moving into the future.”

The Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society was formed in 1988. It organizes the annual JazzFest in July and has a mission to increase awareness of jazz and blues in the region through education and events.
