Josiah’s moving to new downtown location

By Jodi Schwan

Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Cafe is moving to a new downtown location.

The coffee shop opened in 2012 in the CNA Surety building at 101 S. Reid St. It’s moving to the historic Auburn-Nash building, which formerly was Egge Transmission at 104 W. 12th St.

Owner Steve Hildebrand said he needed more space and was attracted to the historic character of the building.

“The interior is like no other building in Sioux Falls,” he posted on Facebook. “It has tremendous character, a high curved ceiling, lots of windows – and a space big enough to serve our great customers.”

The extra space will allow him to expand bakery and catering options. Hours will stay the same.

“We are still working out details of the menu, but for sure we will stay true to our core areas – we’re breakfast and lunch, and I’m going to keep it that way,” he said.

The plan is to close the current location Dec. 24 and open in the new space Jan. 2.
