Juniper Apothecary has opened in its new downtown shop.
The business, which is expanding from bath and body merchandise to natural and healing products, is in the 8th & Railroad Center.
“We have tinctures and herbal-infused products and more healing products. We’re going to stick to our roots,” said Brittany Sopko, who owns the business with her husband, Josh.
The couple started the business in their Tea home as Juniper Bath & Body and moved into The Empire Mall last year. Customers there were more interested in the bath and body products.
With a different customer base downtown, “now we’re going to get into a little more of the natural products,” Sopko said.
They also plan to start offering make-and-take classes a few times a month in the shop.
“We’ll teach you to make our bath bombs, bath salts, and we’ll have herbalism-type classes,” Sopko said.
In addition to space for classes and production, there’s a playroom for the couple’s three small children, who typically will be in the store half-days, Sopko said.
While she’s planning to add inventory, the shelves are lined with products made by Juniper Apothecary: bath bombs, bath salts, shower steamers, bar soap, shampoo and conditioner bars, bubble bath, whipped soap, sugar scrub, body cream and more.
The shop carries Common Good cleaning products, Mad Hippie creams, and a collection of tinctures and herbal-infused products such as sleep and immune tonics, digestive bitters, a natural cough syrup and essential oil rollers.
She’ll start making some of that merchandise herself.
Hours for Juniper Apothecary are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Juniper Apothecary has a new location and new merchandise, including more natural and healing products.
