KFC on Kiwanis ‘closed until further notice’

The KFC on Kiwanis Avenue near 12th Street is closed, but it’s unclear if the shutdown is temporary or permanent.
A sign on the door reads “closed until further notice,” but the restaurant has been removed as a location on the corporate KFC website and a customer service representative said it was closed permanently.
According to a statement from a spokesperson: “The KFC restaurant located at 300 S. Kiwanis in Sioux Falls is closed. While it is always a difficult decision to close a restaurant, we appreciate the patronage of our loyal guests.”
An employee at the KFC on Louise Avenue said the Kiwanis restaurant is owned by a different franchisee from the one that owns the sites on Louise Avenue and on East 10th Street.
