Little Caesars to add south Sioux Falls location

Dec. 21, 2021

Little Caesars is adding its first new Sioux Falls store in years.

The pizza chain has leased space  in the Liberty Square retail center, west of Minnesota Avenue on 85th Street in front of Walmart.

The fourth Sioux Falls location will be in an end-cap space next to Orangetheory Fitness.

Little Caesars’ model revolves around its Hot-N-Ready pizza. For a contactless experience, customers can order from their mobile phone and pick up their pizza from a Pizza Portal locker that opens by scanning a QR code on their phone.

Little Caesars plans to open in mid-2022.

Leasing activity has been busy in the 85th and Minnesota area, according to Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who brokered the Little Caesars deal.

“With the recent Little Caesars and Starbucks deals, we are down to just one space available in front of Walmart,” Tysdal said. “The last space is right next to Starbucks, and we currently have interest from a couple different tenants.”

Healthy pet food franchise Pet Wants recently opened in another nearby retail center, which is now 100 percent leased.

“Retailers and restaurants want to be near anchor retailers like Walmart, Aldi and Dollar Tree,” according to Tysdal, who also did the Pet Wants deal. “Those larger retailers create traffic, and the small retailers benefit from that activity.”

As retail space fills up, more is on the way, he added.

“Landscape Garden Centers is currently preparing to relocate, and we will be leasing up a new redevelopment of the 7-acre LGC site at 81st and Minnesota,” said Tysdal, who is co-listing the redevelopment with fellow broker Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos.

“It’s going to be a really fun project. Keep your eyes open for progress in the coming months.”
