A 30-year-old Sioux Falls accounting firm has a new name.

Thurman, Comes, Foley & Co. LLP is now Paceline Accounting Group LLP.

The Sioux Falls-based firm formed in October 1992 when Jerald B. Davis Co. merged with Thurman, Carlon & Millar. Recent and anticipated retirements prompted the partners to seek a new name that “could withstand further partnership changes while articulating the values of their firm,” the firm said in a statement.

“With Fred (Thurman) retiring, rather than continuing to update our name, we thought this was a good opportunity to find a name that could be more timeless and represent our firm in a new way,” said CPA partner Ron Comes.

Local agency Fresh Produce assisted in the rebrand.

“We wanted to practice under a name that could guide current employees and clients and provide clarity for future team members and clients,” CPA partner Mary Dally said.

The change took effect Jan. 1.

“After reviewing many options, we chose Paceline Accounting Group because it represents our commitment to collaboration and leadership,” said CPA partner Cathy Harr. “As leaders, we aim to provide our clients with a holistic view of their financial opportunities so they have the freedom to focus on the things they’re passionate about, whether that’s their business or other personal goals.”

Paceline employs 22 professionals and offers professional and personal accounting services such as audits and advisory, tax prep and bookkeeping, and succession planning. The office is at 416 S. Second Ave.
