If you want lululemon athletica to stay in Sioux Falls, better start shopping.

The athletic clothing store opened today at The Empire Mall.

But it’s a seasonal lease. The store will be open in the former Wet Seal space near the food court for 13 weeks.

National retailers have a history of trying out the mall seasonally before agreeing to a permanent lease, so it’s still a possibility. Build-a-Bear Workshop did a similar deal a few years ago.

Lululemon is making the most of its time in town, though. Live music for the grand opening will start at 6 p.m. and continue each Wednesday night this month. Other local partnerships within the store also are expected.

The store is still taking applications for employees.
