Manufacturer to expand Sioux Falls plant, add 40 jobs

July 26, 2018

A longtime Sioux Falls manufacturer plans to expand its plant and add 40 jobs over the next four years.

Graco Inc. said the project will add 56,000 square feet to its 148,000-square-foot plant at 3501 N. Fourth Ave.

The company, which is based in Minneapolis, makes fluid handling equipment. Graco expects to break ground in the next three weeks and be using the new space in April 2019.

“We are celebrating our 25th year in Sioux Falls this summer, so it’s a great time to take on this milestone project,” said Brian Callahan, operations manager for the plant. “Strong employee performance and a continuous improvement mind-set made expanding our presence in Sioux Falls an easy decision.”

Graco employs almost 250 people in Sioux Falls. The additional space will increase manufacturing capacity for the facility, which specializes in machining, injection molding and assembling fluid handling components and equipment to support Graco’s six business divisions. The company will make factory investments in manufacturing equipment over the next four years.

“It’s not every day a company announces its 56,000-square-foot expansion, so this is big — literally and figuratively,” said Commissioner Scott Stern of the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “Job creation, community involvement and corporate investment are foundational principles upon which companies succeed, and it’s a pleasure to see Graco growing in Sioux Falls.”

Graco’s project partners include general contractor Peska Construction and architectural services by TSP Inc.
