Mobile boutique officially debuts this weekend

A health care professional who started an online boutique last year will hold a grand opening for the mobile version of her store this weekend.

Lindsay Kinzer, a Scotland, S.D., native who has lived in Sioux Falls for 18 years, launched Revive Boutique last September after wanting to own a store for more than a decade. She went to school for medical sonography and works occasionally at a hospital.

“And (I) finally decided one day … that I just needed to take the leap of faith and do it,” she said. “I have always loved the thought of helping make others feel beautiful and good about themselves, along with dealing with the 10,000 things women do during the day. We still want to look good!”

She started up a mobile version slowly this summer but is holding her grand opening Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at 2416 S. Dartmoor Circle.

It will include food, a bounce house and dunk tank.

“Originally going into it I wanted to serve the entire family,” said Kinzer, a wife and mother of three boys. “Our family is so busy and constantly running for our boys’ sports that I wanted to serve families in the same boat … those that needed a one-stop shop.”

However, she quickly realized “trying to serve everyone, I wasn’t serving anyone,” she said.

So she is focusing on women sizes small through 3X with simple, comfortable styles, she said, including gift items and accessories.

“Someday I may add a boys/men’s collection to the boutique, but for now I will focus on us women who just want to be cute and comfy like me,” Kinzer said.

That includes graphic tees, casual dresses and tops, linen-style pants and shorts and sassy coffee mugs, she said.

“I like to bring in things that can be dressed up or down but remain comfortable.”

She’s done some events throughout the summer and is hoping to set a schedule parking at certain businesses. While she said she’d love a storefront, she envisions incorporating areas such as a lounge space or kids zone.

“Those are just big dreams for now, but hopefully someday one will come to fruition,” she said.
