Allison Dvorak

Avera Health

Allison Dvorak, Avera Health’s director of facility development, is one of 17 recipients of the national Young Architects Award from the American Institute of Architecture. She oversees construction projects throughout the Avera system. Dvorak, who also serves as the AIA South Dakota president, has been a leader in dignified and inclusive design in the community and has helped with the development of the future Sioux Falls Skatepark.

Good Samaritan Society

Heather Herlyn, director of quality and safety at the Good Samaritan Society, has been elected to serve as a member of the American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living quality award board through 2026.

 

Jamie O’Brien

Caliber

Jamie O’Brien has been promoted to senior account executive at Caliber. She has served as an account executive for the past four years.

Capital Services has promoted two leaders.

Alfred Furth

Alfred Furth is the new president and CEO. Furth joined Capital in 2007 as a portfolio analyst while he was completing his doctorate in computational science and statistics from SDSU and was most recently the executive vice president and portfolio chief. He began his data science career during his tenure at the Mayo Clinic, providing support to the Cancer Research Center. Furth replaces Chuck Hendrickson.

Michelle Mueller, chief financial officer, has been named executive vice president. Mueller joined Capital as its controller in 2001, was appointed CFO in 2010 and chief operating officer in 2018.

Delta Dental of South Dakota

Jeff Miller

Jeff Miller has been named president and CEO of Delta Dental of South Dakota. He will replace Scott Jones, who is retiring April 3 after 46 years at the company, including more than 33 years as president and CEO. Miller has been at Delta Dental since 2001 and serves as executive vice president. Jones will continue part time as president of the Delta Dental of South Dakota Foundation.

Mike Hart and Ted Heeren, owners of Fresh Produce, have received a Silver Medal Award from the South Dakota Advertising Federation. This award is given to people who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.

Sioux Valley Energy

Tim McCarthy

Sioux Valley Energy CEO Tim McCarthy has been elected president of the national Touchstone Energy Cooperative’s board of directors. McCarthy has 35 years of utility management experience. Before becoming CEO of Sioux Valley Energy in 2013, he served as CEO for an Indiana-based electric cooperative. Before joining the rural electric industry, he worked for 19 years with a large Midwest investor-owned utility. McCarthy has served on the Touchstone Energy board of directors for four years. Touchstone Energy is a network of electric cooperatives across 45 states that provides research, communications resources and employee training programs to member cooperatives.

Four new board members have been elected to the South Dakota Corn Growers Association: director at-large, Kelsey Geraets, who serves as her family’s feedlot manager for a 2,500-head cattle operation near Colton and is involved with their row crop and ethanol production; industry director, Jennifer Feistner, who farms near Woonsocket with her husband and is an agronomic experience digital strategy lead at Bayer Crop Science; industry director, Kendall Jones of Sioux Falls, president and CEO of ProAg; industry director, Rebecca Wellenstein, a crop insurance agent with Farm Credit Services of America who runs a row crop and swine operation with her husband near Centerville.

Wells Fargo

Amange Aware

Amange Aware has been named commercial banking market executive for Wells Fargo, a promotion that expands his territory west. In his new role, he will lead teams in South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Aware joined Wells Fargo in 2002 and has spent most of his career in commercial banking.
