The west-side Crossroads development is the latest area to see a new Starbucks.

The coffee chain opened today along West 12th Street just east of Interstate 29.

The location includes a drive-thru and outdoor seating.

Hours are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekend.

In the past several months, Starbucks also opened at 41st Street and Ellis Road and at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

An additional store is under construction at 69th Street and Cliff Avenue, and others are planned near Jefferson High School and not far from the northwest Sioux Falls Walmart store.

At The Crossroads, Starbucks joins Silverstar Car Wash and Northern Tool + Equipment. Voyage Federal Credit Union also is under construction.

About two-thirds of the 30-acre site is still available.

“There’s strong interest. We’re in negotiations with other users for potential business opportunities,” said Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos., who represents the development. “The existing businesses have enjoyed strong sales and are glad to have the interstate exposure and access to a high-traffic count and the intersection.”

The goal for the property continues to be adding office users, restaurants and potential additional retail or a hotel, she said.
