Noodles & Company will return to the east side

Aug. 16, 2019

East-side Noodles & Company fans: Your restaurant is returning.

It’s just coming back in a new location. The store on Arrowhead Parkway across from Walmart closed this past spring.

Franchisee Joe Cody is reopening it in a new building he will construct farther west on East 10th Street next to the new retail center that includes Taco John’s.

“His objective was to move that restaurant closer to downtown Sioux Falls because he feels it will increase his lunch business significantly,” said Scott Blount of Lloyd Cos., who brokered the deal.

“He found that stretch between downtown and the interstate real desirable.”

Cody said after five years on the east side, he thought he could increase sales by changing locations. He’s also the Noodles franchisee at 57th Street and Louise Avenue, which he said is a strong performer.

At the new east-side location, “we have room for a little larger building, so we’re going to have an extra leasable tenant space,” he said.

The 5,000-square-foot building will offer about half its space for lease.

“We’re open to any uses,” Blount said. “It’s really becoming a little corridor of quick-service and fast-casual restaurants.”

New for Noodles at this location will be a pick-up window designed to be used for online orders.

“You order online, and then you can drive up and pick it up, so you don’t have to get out of your car,” Cody said.

He’s working on engineering and design with the hope of starting construction this fall. If the project stays on track, the new Noodles would open in the first quarter of next year.
