Nothing Bundt Cakes opens to big response

Dec. 14, 2018

The bundt cakes have arrived, and a hungry crowd was waiting for them.

Nothing Bundt Cakes opened today in a retail center at the Western Mall next to Scheels, and it wasn’t long before shoppers started streaming in.

It’s a national concept that offers bundt cakes in a variety of flavors and sizes, from bite-size to ones that feed up to 30 people.

The franchise owners are Bryon and Diane Meyer, who discovered the business while living in Omaha. There are nearly 300 locations nationwide.

“We just had an overwhelming response. It’s been great,” Diane Meyer said. “Some told us they’ve been driving to Omaha to pick up cakes.”

The store also includes a selection of party-related items, cards and gifts.

“It’s just a different treat to use for any celebration,” Meyer said.

The store is still hiring for all positions. It will hold a grand opening the second week in January with events including a wine and cake tasting with Western Mall neighbor Prairie Berry.

Hours for Nothing Bundt Cakes are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
