The Original Pancake House is closed through Friday for updates.

The main dining area is getting new flooring and paint, franchisee Janet Eining said. She opened the franchise at 2715 W. 41st St. 12 years ago.

“It was past due,” she said. “Unfortunately, it’s one of those things you have to shut down while you take everything out.”

The original bamboo flooring had been refinished three times. The new laminate will feature three colors, Eining said.

It’s the first time the restaurant has had to close for a project.
