What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I came to Sioux Falls about five years ago to attend Augustana University for my undergraduate degree. Growing up in a small town, it was important to me that I find a community with small-town values that would still offer me big opportunities to grow in my career. I’m happy to say that I’ve found all of the above in the few years that I’ve been in Sioux Falls.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

Sioux Falls is vibrant. The people, culture and progressive attitude of this city is contagious and makes me a proud Sioux Fallsian — that’s the way we’re supposed to say it, right? Not to mention, there are constantly activities, ranging from festivals to concerts and sporting events along with the foodie scene downtown. They’re all definite perks to life in Sioux Falls and add to the quality of life here.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

There are so many things I love about my job that it’s hard to name only one. Every day is different and brings new opportunities to creatively solve business problems with our clients. I also work with some great people. They’re fun, they’re passionate, and they teach and invest in me every day. It’s been a great year going “The Extra Mile,” and I can’t wait to see what this next year brings.

How did you get connected to your industry?

I first became interested in marketing through my classes at Augustana. The psychology and strategy behind marketing and advertising was fascinating to me and fit in well with my talents and interests. Through my time at Augie, I was also provided with some great networking opportunities and ultimately internships that allowed me to become more immersed in the business community here. However, in the past year since graduating, I’ve continued to stay connected by attending events such as YPN (Young Professionals Network) and One Million Cups.

Driven, forward-thinking and collaborative.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In the next five years, I’m focused on both professional and personal growth. I look forward to taking on more responsibility at Lawrence & Schiller to become an asset to both my team and our clients. I’m also looking to become more invested in the community of Sioux Falls and will be looking for opportunities to give back through my time and talents.
