MetaBank

Jennifer Warren

Lucas Kading

MetaBank has promoted four staff members:

Lucas Kading to director of corporate development. During his almost three years at MetaBank, Kading has held several positions within the treasury department, including fixed income analyst and senior corporate development analyst.

Jennifer Warren to head of operations. Warren, a senior vice president, most recently held the position of chief audit executive and has been with MetaBank for a year.

Trenton Brown to statistical analyst lead. Brown has been with MetaBank for two years and previously held the position of statistical analyst.

Jacques Apaloo has been promoted to senior vice president of audit and chief audit executive. Apaloo joined MetaBank in 2015 as the director of internal audit. He was named vice president of internal audit in December 2016.

MetaBank has added four staff members:

Kaisha Stofferahn as the director of internal audit. Stofferahn previously served as a senior auditor at Great Western Bank and the lead of the audit department at Midco.

Jeremiah Zuraff as a software engineer. Zuraff previously worked at Fiserv, where he was a software engineer – technical lead.

Debra Jensen

Debra Jensen as the business development manager. Jensen has extensive experience working with real estate and mortgage loans.

Randall Groenhagen has been hired as a database administrator III. He previously held positions with Premier Bankcard and Great Western Bank.

Sanford Health has named its Employee of the Year winners. Here are the recipients from the Sioux Falls region:

Birkeland Clinical Innovation Employee of the Year: Jessie J. Park, lead art specialist, Sanford Arts.

Outstanding Surgical Services Employee of the Year: Amanda Dieren, clinical care leader, Surgical Services.

Patricia K. Van Wyhe Nurse of the Year: Stephanie Deck, clinical care leader, Birth Place.

Sanford Health Network Clinical Employee of the Year: Lois Heald, Registered Nurse, Sanford Canby Medical Center.

Sanford Health Network Management Employee of the Year: Darla Toben, patient access manager, Sanford Clear Lake Medical Center.

Sanford Health Network Support Services Employee of the Year: Ericka Aldrich, administrative assistant, Sanford Webster Medical Center.

Sanford USD Medical Center President’s Leadership Award: Tara D. Stauffacher, director, Orthopedics/Neurology.

Sanford Clinic – Clinical Employee of the Year: Heather Johnson, nurse practitioner, Sanford Children’s Specialty Clinic.

Sanford Clinic – Management Employee of the Year: Janean Burke, manager, Radiology.

Sanford Clinic – Physician of the Year: Dr. Geoffrey Tufty, Sanford Eye Center & Optical.

Sanford Clinic – Support Services Employee of the Year: Kelsey A. Plimpton, financial counseling representative, Sanford Vascular Associates.

Sweetman Family Employee of the Year: Lisa Van Den Berg, senior director, Corporate Payroll.

First Dakota National Bank

Scott Dreessen has a new role at First Dakota National Bank, moving from a credit analyst officer to a business banking officer. His office is at First Dakota’s downtown location.

Justin Garry

Justin Garry has joined Hegg Realtors as a broker associate. Garry spent the past eight years managing medical clinics.

Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire

The Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire has chosen its Award of Excellence winners for the Fall Parade of Homes. Winners in the single-family home categories are Paul Fick Homes Inc., Allen Homes Inc., Veurink Contracting, Jeren Homes Inc., W.T. Construction Inc. and Amdahl Construction Co. Winners in the twin house, town house and condo categories are Allen Homes Inc., Oakland Homes and Blair Masonry Homes, and Krumvieda Cos. with two projects.

Gregory LaFollette

Gregory L. LaFollette  has been named to Accounting Today’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. LaFollette recently retired from the executive team at CPA.com, a subsidiary of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and now serves as a strategic adviser, reporting directly to the CEO. He practiced in Sioux Falls for 23 years. LaFollette was inducted into the Accounting Technology Hall of Fame in 2011 and also participates annually in the Accounting Thought Leader Symposium, an invitation-only gathering of the top 25 award-winning, critically-acclaimed CPAs in the country. He travels extensively but works out of an office at Eide Bailly LLP when he’s in Sioux Falls.

Make-A-Wish South Dakota

Make-A-Wish South Dakota has elected board members and officers.

Serving as chair is Gina Hopkins of CorTrust Bank; vice chair, Steve Morgans of Myers, Billion LLP; secretary, Bobbi Thury, Legacy Law Firm PC; and treasurer, Matt Hocks, Sanford Health.
