Nov. 24, 2020

CheeseWorld is making a return to retail and eventually will become the sole provider of cheeses at WilLiquors. Customers can find their favorites beginning Wednesday in coolers near the entrance and near the cheese section by the wine. CheeseWorld manager Michale Czmowski said the store near 69th and Western typically offered 200 kinds of cheese. “While it would be awesome to have that many, we will pair it down to the best of the best. We’re picking out ones that people enjoy. We’ve got it down to right around 50.” CheeseWorld closed its retail shop in August 2019 but has continued to sell gift baskets and fill corporate orders through its website.

The Rush Bar & Grill is serving its annual free Thanksgiving meal Thursday for anyone who’s alone or in need. Children are welcome. Turkey and all the fixings will be served from noon to 3 p.m.

Here’s a look at the Prairie Cocoa & Confections’ holiday pop-up shop in the Jones421 Building on North Phillips Avenue. Pastry chef Keyes Clemmer has stocked it with decorated cookies, caramel apples, hot cocoa bombs, truffles and more. The shop will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday before settling into regular hours next week of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday into the new year.

According to Remedy, the stout “clocks in at 12.6 percent ABV, pours like motor oil and will keep your taste buds warm and happy.” It’s made with graham crackers and marshmallows. Be prepared to pay for all that sweetness – it’s $9 for a 10-ounce glass or $22 for a crowler. The beer will be released at 11 a.m. Sunday at Remedy and will be available that day or Monday at the latest at WoodGrain.

Severance Brewing Co. has created family game night Shorty Crowler bundles. Pick two beers, excluding barrel-aged offerings, and your choice of two of the hopped sparkling lemonades or root beer for the kids or non-beer drinkers. They’re on sale for $26.50 through the online store.

Pizza Hut teamed up with Beyond Meat to create the that topping that’s seasoned with garlic, paprika and fennel seeds to mimic the flavor of sausage.
