Bread & Circus Sandwich Kitchen, Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe, Daily Clean Food & Drink and Sanaa’s 8th Street Gourmet were part of a pilot test, said Alyssa Gehle, LiveWell’s registered dietitian. The Healthy Place program officially launches March 25, but restaurants can start the application process now, Gehle said. Restaurants have to meet 80 percent of the criteria to be certified. The program looks at features such as being a tobacco- and e-cigarette-free property, providing healthy side dishes, featuring local foods and training staff to encourage healthy options.
