Rainy weather didn’t stop shoppers from being the first to browse Ross Dress For Less on Friday morning at Lake Lorraine.

The grand opening, which includes a ribbon-cutting and check presentation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Sioux Empire, is scheduled for Saturday.

Customers also can win a $500 shopping spree.

Ross has almost 1,400 locations nationwide. It sells in-season, name-brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions at 20 percent to 60 percent off department and specialty store regular prices.

Ross follows Hobby Lobby as the second large retailer to open in the past week at Lake Lorraine.

The next grand opening will be Oct. 19 for Marshalls and HomeGoods.

Hours for Ross are 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
