Dec. 3, 2019

The area of Sioux Falls west of Interstate 29 has gained its first sushi restaurant with the opening of Sakura Sushi at Lake Lorraine.

It’s a second location for Kam Chung, who also owns Fuji Sushi Express in The Empire Mall.

The extensive menu includes soups, salads, appetizers, sushi, sashimi, rolls, tempura, yakisoba, teriyaki, ramen, hibachi and desserts. The restaurant has a beer and wine license.

Lunch specials are offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Sakura also offers three party trays with a variety of rolls and pieces of sushi.

The space, which is in one of Lake Lorraine’s retail centers along Marion Road, previously was Toppers Pizza, but it has been completely remodeled. There is seating for 40 customers.

Take-out is available, and the restaurant might add a delivery service, manager Tanya Li said.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
